Document / things needed to renew or apply passport.
1) identity card, i/c-they're going to scan it,just make sure that gold microchip on the i/c is working.
2) 2 pieces of latest photos
- photos must be in standard form with blue background. there're 3 photo shops over there, you can get everything done over there if you don't have any photos in standard form.
3) money
- the price of the passport varies and it depends on your preference. if you wanted to renew/apply for 2 years, the price is RM100. it would be RM300 if you wanted to apply/renew for 5 years.
4)own pen
- they won't provide any pens. you have to fill in a form during the procedure. so, be smart.
5) thumb for finger print.
- the officer is going to ask for your thumb print. just make sure BOTH thumbs are not injured or wrapped with plasters.
6) other documents
- for example, birth certificate. there's a column to fill in birth cert no. in that form, i guess that's for kids

if you only key in pejabat imigresen kelana jaya, the google map will most probably lead you to the immigration department in subang jaya. i've no idea why.

there's drive in parking there and the parking fees is quite reasonable.
it's RM1.50 per entry and there's additional RM1.50 for every hour. the maximum charge is RM4.00.
there's alot of people over there. don't worry, those officers in this dep are very efficient. their high proficiency allow you to get your passport on the day itself. |
procedure to renew/apply passport.
1) get the application form from the counter.
-you will see a counter on ur left hand side when you enter the office. An officer will be there to guide you. you don't have to press any numbers and wait for your turn. just go to the counter at the entrance and ask for the application form.
2) fill in the application form
- if you're renewing your passport, there's a few extra details for you to fill in. basically you just fill in your details.
3) hand it to the same officer when you're done.
- he will check for you and tell you which part did you miss out. after that, show him your photos and i/c. if everything is alright, he will give you a queuing number.
4)go to the respective counter when it's your turn
- hand over all your documents (application, photos and i/c)
- he will process it and he'll ask for your thumb print.
-the processing officer will guide you to counter 3 to make payment. he will guide you by give you another queuing number.
5) make payment
- after you have made payment, they will return your i/c
- a paper slip will be given, there's a statement saying that you have to wait for 2 hours in order to get your passport.
6) so wait for 2 hours.
- there's no entertainment over there. only restaurants and private companies are available at that area.
7) return to immigration dep after 2 hours.
- queue up at counter 1 in order to receive your queuing number.
- you will get your passport when it's ur turn
8) passport holder
- they're selling red PVC passport holder at the respective counter, it's RM3 each.
